THE MAN BEHIND THE BRAND – ROD BEATTIE
Over twenty years in swimwear design and a record number of retail best-sellers (according to the NPD Group) have earned Rod Beattie the title America’s #1 Swimsuit Designer. After two decades of designing for two of the nation’s top swimwear labels – La Blanca and Anne Cole Collection – Rod Beattie debuted his swimwear brand in 2010, Bleu|Rod Beattie.
Bleu is a collection of contemporary swimwear inspired by Rod’s Southern California roots and his love of travel. “The woman I design for loves to travel and frequents spas and resorts,” says Beattie. “A wardrobe of swimsuits and cover-ups is a must for her lifestyle – whether she is playing with her kids on the beach or attending a glamorous poolside cocktail party.”
In addition to designing, Beattie mentors students at Otis College of Art and Design, helping them develop swimwear which are showcased at an annual fashion show each semester.
